INTRODUCTION:

“Whatever were gain to me I consider loss for the sake of Christ” Philippians 3:7

We need to leave little things in order to gain glorious goodness.

Paul counted everything as loss to press on towards the goal for which God has called him. Philippians 3:14 . Those who leave things for Christ will receive hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. Matthew 19:27 , 28

Abraham-Father of faith, obeyed God’s word and left his country, people, father’s household, land and so God fulfilled his promise, blessed his generation. Genesis 12:1 , 4; 15:5; 13:2.

  1. LEAVE YOUR HOPE

“So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burnt the ploughing equipment…..” 1 Kings 19:21 .

Elisha was ploughing his field with his yoke of oxen which he relied on. When Elijah called him he left his work, slaughtered the oxen and burnt his ploughing equipments that were his only hope.

Elisha left his only hope and so God blessed him with double portion of Elijah’s anointing. 2 Kings 2:9 .

  1. LEAVE YOUR BLESSING TO BE MERCIFUL

“Go, sell your possession and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven” Matthew 19:21 .

Leave your blessing in order to show mercy. “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done”  Proverbs 19:17 .

Bible says sell that you have and give alms. Luke 12:33 .

Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely. Psalms 112:5-9.

Give and it will be given to you. For with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Luke 6:38 .

  1. LEAVE YOUR OLD CHARACTER

“He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin” Hebrews 11:25 .

When Moses was 40 years old he killed an Egyptian thinking that his people would realize that God is using him to rescue them. God let him to toil for next forty years so that he leaves his old character to be a good leader of Israel.

Bible records “Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.” Numbers 12:3 .

  1. LEAVE THAT WHICH MAKES YOU STUMBLE

“He left his cloak in her hands and ran out of the house.” Genesis 12:12 .

Potiphar’s house was a stumbling block to Joseph. He saved himself and left the house.

Paul says Man of God flee from these things:

  • Love of money. 1 Timothy 6:10 .
  • Constant friction, controversies, quarrels, envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions.

1 Timothy 6:5 .

  • Avoid godless chatter. 2 Timothy 2:16 .
  • Avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments. Titus 3:9
  1. LEAVE SATANIC THINGS

“Look, your house is left to you desolate.” Matthew 23:38 .

In Matthew 21:13 , Jesus says to Pharisees and Sadducees, “‘My house is called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’”

As they gave space for satanic works, God says their house is left desolate. So leave satanic things and come under protecting wings of God. Bible says “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10 .
